All 'string bean' jewelry is made-to-order and shipped within 7 days of receiving payment. For rush orders, please call me at (347) 446-8749 from 10am-7pm ET, Monday-Friday.

Orders are placed through our secure online shopping cart linked to PayPal.

Phone and E-mail
If you are uncomfortable with online purchasing, please call or e-mail kerri@thestringbeanshop.com with the item(s) you want to purchase, the shipping address where you want your order sent and a phone number where I can reach you. At that time, I will provide you with the total cost of your purchase and, if necessary, a mailing address for sending payment.

Payment
Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express are all acceptable payments through PayPal. Visa, MasterCard, Money Orders and Cashiers Checks are acceptable payments for non-PayPal purchases. Mail payments must be received within 7 days of placing the order.

Sales tax
Only New York State residents will be charged an additional 8.625%.

Shipping
Orders are shipped and insured through FedEx Home Delivery or FedEx Ground for a flat rate of $6. Depending on where the item is being shipped, please allow 2-7 business days for delivery. All 'string bean' jewelry comes beautifully wrapped in tissue and nestled in our signature sage bag - perfect for gift giving!

Gift-wrap
So much time is spent finding the perfect gift that the actual task of gift-wrapping is often rushed and/or overlooked. At 'the string bean,' we pride ourselves in our gift-wrapping as much as we pride ourselves in our jewelry design, so let us help you!

For our gift-wrapping services, please be sure to click on the "Add to Cart w/gift-wrap" button on the desired jewelry page. At checkout, there will be a "comments" box where you can write your heartfelt message to the recipient and/or provide specific instructions for your gift(s). Gift-wrap is optional and available for just $4.95 per gift.

Returns
'String Bean' jewelry is 100% satisfaction guaranteed. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, please e-mail kerri@thestringbeanshop.com. At that time, I will provide you with a Return Authorization Number (RA#) and return mailing address. No refunds will be issued without an RA#. For a refund (minus S&H charges) or exchange, item(s) must be returned unworn and undamaged within 14 days from the date you received it.

Please be sure to include a copy of your receipt with the item(s) and all original packaging. For your security, please send your return through an insured courier (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS-insured) and retain your mailing receipt. 'The String Bean' is not responsible for and will not refund any items damaged or lost in transit. Customers will be responsible for return shipping charges.

Repairs
'The String Bean' guarantees the quality of its jewelry. In the unfortunate event that your jewelry is in need of repair, please e-mail kerri@thestringbeanshop.com. I will provide you with a Repair Authorization Number and return mailing address. Repairs requested within 9 months of the purchase date are free of charge. Repairs requested after 9 months will be subject to a fee based on the nature of the repair. Customers will be responsible for repair shipping charges.

Jewelry Care
A good rule of thumb is to...'Treat each piece of jewelry as if it were your only piece.' Below are some helpful tips for keeping your jewelry as beautiful as the day you got it!

* Apply cosmetics, perfume, hairspray, and lotions BEFORE putting on your jewelry.

* Protect all jewelry from scratches, sharp blows, extreme temperatures, chemicals of all kinds and sunlight.

* After each wearing, gently wipe each piece of jewelry clean of make up and skin oils with a 100% cotton cloth. You can also rinse with water and pat dry but ONLY for non-porous stones.

* Freshwater pearls lose their luster when in constant contact with sweat. To preserve luster, rinse pearls with cool water and dry with a soft cloth.

* Sterling silver will tarnish with exposure to air. The best way to prevent this is to store silver in an anti-tarnish pouch or resealable plastic bag where exposure to air and direct sunlight is minimized. However, over time most silver will tarnish some. I recommend using a soft polishing cloth to restore silver's shine.

* Avoid products that involve immersing your jewelry in solvent as they can weaken the metal as well as the stones.

* Always store bead necklaces strung on silk (such as lapis, pearls, etc) flat because silk stretches over time.

* Store each piece of jewelry separately to prevent scratching.

* Do NOT store pearls in plastic bags, as they need to 'breathe.'
