I will never forget the day my husband and I were passing a retail store window when I expressed an interest in designing jewelry. A few days later, a gift-wrapped "How to Make Jewelry" guide appeared in my hands. Looking back, that gift was transforming…a pivotal moment in my life. To my surprise, this new hobby of mine attracted interest that quickly turned into orders. I always had a dream of working for myself but I never imagined jewelry design would be the avenue I would travel to achieve that goal.
I was working in the corporate world as an advertising executive with a steady paycheck, good benefits, and the occasional bonus. I was fortunate but knew there was something better out there for me. With that seed planted, I decided to "go for it," to be true to myself, listen to my heart, and head down the road of entrepreneurship. Shortly thereafter, 'The String Bean' was born.
The String Bean is more to me than a business. It's personal fulfillment and self-determination. I enjoy sharing jewelry with others and each piece brings me closer to my goal of a successful home-based business.
